Import and protect an SSH key
Use Android’s file picker and keep your own recovery copy.
Import the private SSH key through the native Android file picker. If the key is encrypted, enter its matching passphrase. The passphrase unlocks that key; it is not your SSH username or Keycloak password.
If import or authentication fails, verify that the selected file is a supported private key, not a public .pub file, certificate, ZIP archive or screenshot. Confirm its matching public key is authorized for the selected SSH user. Canceling the picker should leave the existing profile in place.
The app stores sensitive profile values using Android Keystore-backed encryption in its private storage. Hardware backing depends on the device. Backup and device transfer are disabled. Production screenshots are blocked to reduce accidental exposure.
Keep an independent, securely stored original key and passphrase. Losing the device, clearing app data or removing the profile can require reimporting them. AutoSecureLogin cannot recover your SSH private key. Never paste it into the help website or send it to support.
