Verify a host fingerprint
First connection and changed-host warnings stop for a reason.
The fingerprint identifies the SSH server key. On first contact the app stops before trusting the server. Obtain the expected value independently, for example from the provider console or a known administrator.
An administrator can read a host public-key fingerprint on the server with ssh-keygen -lf /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ed25519_key.pub when that is the configured host key. The key type and complete displayed fingerprint must match; a matching hostname alone is insufficient.
Approve only after that comparison. A later mismatch may reflect a legitimate rebuild, a wrong destination or interception. Stop, establish the cause through a trusted channel, and update trust only after verifying the replacement.
Repeatedly accepting an unexpected key removes the benefit of pinning. Support does not need your private key to help interpret the warning.
